Uminova Innovation receives 15 million SEK, five million per year over a period of three years, to endorse the innovative power in Northern Sweden’s companies.
Eleven selected projects share 129 million SEK in EU-funding, as the money from the Northern Sweden’s regional funds were allocated.
Among the projects that aim to support research, technical development, and innovation is Uminova Innovation’s project that receives 15 million SEK over a three year period, to promote innovation and regeneration in new as well as existing companies. The purpose is to build a stronger business sector gearing up to be part of tomorrow, a business sector working for inclusion and is able to attract competence, investments, and the establishment of new companies to the region.
– This makes all of Västerbotten and Northern Sweden winners. The financing ensures that we can continue to help developing the companies in this region. One way is to bring existing companies and research environments in contact with startups, says Annika Wikström, business developer at Uminova Innovation.
– The funding means that our work in encouraging people, to go for it and work on their business ideas, can continue to pay off. We see that more and more people, none the least from the academy and the business sector, are getting involved in the regions startup community, says Nils-Olof Forsgren, CEO at Uminova Innovation.
